Today I was at a round table discussion with venture capitalists (VC) and entrepreneurs in attendance. One of the entrepreneurs asked what is the best way for me to get a VC interested in my company? What he was really asking is how do I convince you to give me money?

The VC said the best way to capture my attention is to send me a one page business plan. This plan should address the following items:

– What problem are you solving
– Why is this a must-have solution
– What is your value proposition
– Tell me about the market
– How much money do you want and what you do with it
