Have you ever wondered what the number one coaching skill is? That would help you go from where you are right now to where you want to be. When hiring a sales coach make sure they are experts in changing mindset.
With the right sales coach, you can go from good to great.
Hi, everyone. My name is Umar Hameed and I'm an expert at changing human behavior. I use Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Applied Neuroscience to help salespeople take charge of their mindset. I am a coach in the Baltimore and Washington DC area. But I have coaching clients around the world via Zoom.
When you take charge of your mindset, it allows you to deliver exceptional results. At the end of the day, what's really most important is the results that you get. The right sales coach can you get better results in two ways:
You need a coach that will help you improve your sales skill set. Because your skills are essential if you want to go for greatness.
You need a coach that is an expert in changing human behavior. They will help you get unstuck so you use your skills more effectively and reach your potential.
Here is the formula for success
Results = Mindset X Skills
Think of it this way, you have a salesperson that has really good skills, but they have a weak mindset. Their results will be lower.
You could have a salesperson that has okay skills and a really strong mindset and the results will be much better.
But if you want to be a rock star, if you want to reach your potential, if you want to uncover that better you inside you, then what you need are really good skills and a strong mindset. This is how you phenomenal results.
So here's what happens. People often have the skills to deliver OK results, They have the skills that they need to achieve their potential but something in their mindset is blocking them.
The question is, what's blocking them?
Well, it turns out, it could be one of three things:
- It could be a limiting belief in their unconscious that stops them from executing. A good example could be a belief about money. Money is the root of all evil, it's a pretty common belief. This belief would allow a salesperson to reach a certain level of performance. If the salesperson tries to go beyond that their mindset starts sabotaging their efforts. So they stay stuck here.
- It could be an internal conflict with one part of their psyche knowing that they could be freaking fantastic. And another part of their psyche knowing that they don't have a university education, or not being smart enough, or not tall enough or not good looking enough, or being too good looking. Whatever it is, it creates a struggle between the two parts. It creates a ton of stress. An inner conflict sabotages your efforts to attain better results.
- It could be a hot wiring issue. Hot wiring is a trigger that starts an internal process in the unconscious. So a good example could be a sales rep that really needs to make cold calls to fill up their pipeline. The hot wiring is triggered by the sales rep looking at the phone. This causes anxiety and negative self-talk stopping the sales rep before they even start making calls.
I've been helping salespeople for the last 15 years, helping them figure out how to take charge of their mindset. How to change limiting beliefs so they operate at a much higher level. Showing them how to resolve internal conflicts so they can take action. Showing them how to rewire those hotwire processes so they achieve greatness.
At the end of the day. What you need to understand is the number one skill in any coach. Especially in a sales coach is his or her ability to help you take charge of your mindset.
